Guess where this place is? ¿Adivina que lugar es este?

Few people know about Gan Hashlosha, also known as the Sachne, is one of the most beautiful places in Israel – some believe it’s the real-world location of the garden of Eden according to tourist israel. It’s a national park with warm water where tourist, traveler and locals can swim all year long (28 degree Celsius)

Is Wadi Rum in your bucket list?

I’ll try to convince you that Wadi Rum should be on your bucket list.

The trip is one in  a life time. Red sand dunes, jeep safari , camel rides, hot air balloons rides over the desert, and lots of culture awaits you in Jordan. Jordanians, on the other hand, are friendly and willing to teach you their dances and how they cook at one of their many Bedouin campsite. We stayed at Bait Ali Camp and couldn’t have a better stayed anywhere else. Great location. We were treated with respect. The place is clean, full of activities and the tents are in good conditions( I do suggest you take your towels and your soap, shampoo). The food is delicious and the have music every night. When it gets dark, we get to see how the food in done underground cook(I particularly enjoyed this experience very much) Wine, excellent food and good company is all you need for a warmer night (the desert gets cold at night)

Down the Canyon in mules| Bajando el Cañon en mulos

IMG_2825Despite its popularity, the Grand Canyon is not the largest canyon on Earth. With an average depth of 5,280 feet and length of 277 smiles, it comes in a distant second to the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon in the Himalays, which boasts a depth of 17,567 feet and a length of 308 miles. However, it still takes tourists from one two three weeks to travel the length of the Grand Canyon via the Colorado River and because I am not a risky person at all, my adventure was limited to a day visit to The Grand canyon from Las Vegas, Nevada. (the pictures are mine, so feel free to pin them)

From Las Vegas, there are different tour companies that will take you to this impressive hole in the ground, helicopter tours, tours by bus, you can even stay in the hotel they have over the cliff and also the Railway tour, they all bring  amazing views and memories. I went on my own, while stopping at Hoover Dam, having lunch in an Indian village, visiting the hotel and going down the Canyon in a mule. Scaryyyy!!!! These animals are not afraid to stop by the edge of the cliff, so I didn’t even blink. The truth is that I didn’t go all the way down, just a little, to the surface again,  but that was enough adventure for me, for one day.

If you are visiting The Canyon on your own, you can easily drive around the north and the south rim, there are several pullouts for visitors. And the impressive change of colors of the rocks. There is also the The Grand Canyon Skywalk which is a horseshoe-shaped bridge with a glass walkway, there is always a line to get on it, but it is so worth it. And last, but not least, if you want to explore more in depth the bottom of the Canyon, get on a rafting adventure to the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon of Arizona desert should be added to your bucket list!!!

The Smoky National Park

  • Prepare your trip ahead of time, The Smoky National Park can be dangerous during winter months. Many roads are close and cabins tended to be sold out fast. There are several good logging options, in North Carolina and in Tennessee, both will give you access to the park. Helpful information about the park: http://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/maps.htm
  • I choose Tennessee just because Gatlinburg (town) offers a lot to do and see. There is also Pigeon Forge (sister town) and many RV campgrounds in both towns.
  • In Gatlinburg you have endless options: luxury cabins(with pools, spa, theater), economic cabins, higher cabins, cabins and hotels near the river, cabins with lots of rooms or few rooms and many more. Good information here: CabinsoftheSmokyMountains.com, http://www.vrbo.com, AmericanMountainRentals.com

  • Visit the visitor center, get safety tips from the rangers and a map. GPS can give you inaccurate information in the mountains.
  • Divide your map, in parts (days) so you won’t skip anything. There is a lot to do and see!!!
  • Always take snacks, and drinks with you.
  • Fill your car with gas before go.
  • Begin with the classic picture of the sign entrance (main road)
